A Letter From General Manager of Golf Courses -Daniel Davis

Dear FSC Sports Club Members,

I hope everyone’s New Year is off to a great start and that you’ve been able to enjoy the relatively mild temperatures we have experienced so far. We may be paying the price for that mild weather this week as arctic air has paid us a visit. You have probably seen that our courses were closed Monday through Wednesday this week as we covered the greens. Even though daytime highs were into the low 40s each day, it was especially important to cover them in this situation due to the fact the bermudagrass has been actively growing in the past couple of weeks with the warm temperatures. This scenario sets up the possibility of winterkill if precautions are not taken. Thank you for your understanding.

Work Being Done at the Golf Course

If you have visited Hedingham in the past few weeks, you will have noticed our brand-new fleet of golf carts. This was a very welcome addition, and we certainly appreciate the patience you showed during the fall as we waited for the new fleet to arrive. Our back nine cart path repaving project should be completed in the next couple of weeks as well. We had hoped to complete this sooner, but the wet weather we have experienced has made it impossible to get large trucks and machinery onto the golf course.

Also, in the next few weeks, you will begin to notice work being done on our bunkers at Riverwood, Eagle Ridge, and Hedingham.  We will be attending to some drainage issues as well as filling them with new sand.  This is a process that will be conducted over multiple years; however, we will be tackling those in the most need first.

MISSION Beef & Brews Coming Soon

Finally, I am excited to announce that Mission Beef and Brews will be opening a second location in the Hedingham Clubhouse. It has been extremely well received since it opened at Riverwood this summer, and we believe it will be equally as successful at Hedingham. If all goes well, it will be open for business in the first half of February.

As always, thank you for your continued support of FSC Sports Club.  I am very excited about what 2020 has in store for the golf courses as we build off the successes of 2019.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, compliments, or concerns.
